South Carolina Tradition Comes to Washington, D.C.
Palmetto Distillery & Moonshine is a labor of love for Trey and Bryan Boggs. The two brothers and entrepreneurs from Anderson, SC are dedicated business men, southern to the bone and most importantly spirit connoisseurs. The brothers drew inspiration from their own heritage and that of South Carolina to create Palmetto Distillery that produces South Carolina’s first legal moonshine as well as fine southern whiskey. It continues to revolutionize the spirit industry in many unpredictable ways and is often the first on the scene.
The history behind the brand is rooted deep in the heritage of the Boggs family and can be traced all the way back to 1898. Palmetto Distillery’s mission is to honor the heritage of South Carolina’s liquor production by creating a southern whiskey and moonshine of unparalleled taste and quality. They take pride in creating products that showcase the colorful history of the Palmetto State and the deep connection the brands have to the population of South Carolina.
“Although Palmetto has been offered in the D.C. metro through a distributor for years, we’re expanding our distribution all over Maryland in the spring of 2018,” offers Bryan Boggs, one of two brothers who own and oversee operations at the company’s headquarters in Anderson, South Carolina.
As part of a well-planned expansion, Palmetto Distillery announced last week that they are partnered with the GSP, or the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in opening a new retail location beyond the TSA checkpoints. GSP announced on Twitter that Anderson-based Palmetto Distillery plans to sell its popular moonshine at the airport. Started by brothers Trey and Bryan Boggs, Palmetto Distillery sells whiskey and five flavors of moonshine: white lightening, strawberry, peach, blackberry and apple pie.
